Four dead in crash involving Dallas Cowboys bus

Four people were killed in an accident involving a Dallas Cowboys bus on Sunday, the team announced.
“On July 24, 2016, at about 1:39 p.m. a Dodge van, with a driver and three passengers, was traveling southbound on State Route 93 near the intersection of Pierce Ferry Road, milepost 41,” the Arziona Department of Public Safety said in a statement. “A motor coach was traveling northbound on State Route 93. The van turned left across the traffic lanes to access Pierce Ferry Road. The van and motor coach collided in the intersection causing both vehicles to run off the road. Three females and one male in the van died at the scene from their injuries. The occupants of the motor coach were uninjured in the collision.”
The bus collided with a van in Arizona, leaving four van passengers dead while the bus passengers sustained only minor injuries. The bus was carrying an undisclosed number of Cowboys staff members, but no players, according to Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple.
“All on the bus came through OK with some bumps and bruises,” Dalrymple said, according to ESPN.
DallasCowboys.com columnist Mickey Spagnola, a team videographer and a mascot were among those on board the bus, which was traveling to a fan event in Las Vegas. The event was subsequently canceled.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones issued the following statement:
“An accident involving loss of life is tragic. We as an organization are deeply saddened, and our thoughts, prayers and concerns at this time are with the family members and loved ones of all who were lost.”
The Cowboys will depart for training camp on Thursday.
