The Seahawks and general manager John Schneider have agreed to a contract extension that will make him one of the league’s highest-paid GMs, owner Paul Allen announced on Twitter.

Schneider, 45, was hired by the Seahawks back in 2010 a week after the team brought in head coach Pete Carroll. Both men were entering the final year of their deals. The next step, according to Clayton, will be to extend Carroll.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome is currently the highest-paid GM in the NFL, making $3.75 million annually. Schneider was previously reported to be seeking $4 million per year.
