Ryan Fitzpatrick agrees to one-year deal with Jets
After a long dispute in the off-season, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets, the team announced Thursday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the deal is worth $12 million.
The deal also reportedly includes $3 million in incentives, which could make the deal worth $15 million, according to Schefter.
Fitzpatrick is coming off a season in which he set the franchise record with 31 touchdown passes last year and collected 3,905 yards. He led the team to a 10–6 record, which was the best since 2010.
Wideout Brandon Marshall, who recently revealed that Fitzpatrick had halted communication with him, met with the veteran signalcaller on Monday night in Chicago.

The Jets reportedly made several offers to Fitzpatrick after he chose not to take a three-year, $24 million deal. The team still have Geno Smith under contract and an added rookie Christian Hackenberg in the second round of the NFL draft. Bryce Petty is also listed as a backup.

Smith went 11-18 as the Jets starter from 2013 to 2014.
