Tyrann Mathieu and the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a five-year extension worth around $62.5 million, according to multiplereports.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport first reported the news. Mathieu will receive $40 million in guaranteed money. According to ESPN, that is the highest number for a safety in the league.

Mathieu, 24, tore his right ACL last December and his LCL and left ACL in December 2013. When healthy, he has been one of the league’s most versatile defensive backs.

The Cardinals reportedly expect him to return to practice in two weeks.
