Bengals first-round pick William Jackson has a torn pectoral muscle, NFL.com’s Mike Garofalo reports.

Jackson, the No. 24 selection out of Houston, was injured on Monday in training camp and could be out for an extended period of time. ESPN’s Adam Schefterreported his season is in jeopardy, and Garofalo reported that he could be out for three to four months.

Jackson was regarded as one of the top corner prospects in the draft after leading the NCAA with 23 pass breakups.

The Bengals have depth at cornerback, including Adam Jones, Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard, and Jackson was not expected to contribute significantly right away.
