Bengals practice rained out, have to work out in gym

CINCINNATI (AP) A downpour limited the Cincinnati Bengals to a 30-minute practice Tuesday afternoon. Soon after it started, they were drenched and heading for cover.

The Bengals are the most northern NFL team without a covered practice field. They moved up their practice by an hour to try to beat the coming rain, but it still cut the session short. Players did a scaled-back workout in the team's gymnasium inside Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bengals will practice the next two days against the Minnesota Vikings, with rain in the forecast for both days. The Vikings are coached by former Cincinnati coordinator Mike Zimmer. The teams will then open their preseason on Friday night at Paul Brown.
