New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will play in the team's preseason road game against the Carolina Panthers on Friday, reports CSNNE.com.

Brady will be making his preseason debut after sitting out the first preseason game and missing last week's game against the New Orleans Saints after cutting his hand.

According to the report, it is not known if Brady or backup Jimmy Garoppolo will start the game or how many series each will play.

Garoppolo started the first two preseason games for New England, going 27 for 39 with 349 yards and one touchdown while taking 84 offensive snaps.

Garoppolo is set to be the starter because Brady will be serving a four-game suspension to start the season for his role in Deflategate.
