No. 87: Jay Cutler

Last season was dubbed Coach Killer Cutler’s “last chance” to make it right in Chicago. And he did finally resemble the kind of quarterback meriting a seven-year, $126 million contract, the kind of franchise savior Chicago fans have not-so-patiently been waiting to see. Cutler recorded a career-best 92.3 passer rating and just one game with multiple interceptions, a huge improvement from 2014 where he threw multiple picks in seven different games and led the league in interceptions. This season the pieces are in place for Cutler to continue his development: former quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains replaced Adam Gase as offensive coordinator, and two offensive weapons—Kevin White and Alshon Jeffrey—return from injury. Cutler is in the final guaranteed year of his contract and so this year is another last chance.
