No. 89: Matthew Stafford

Whenever a pundit tries to rank every quarterback in the NFL, the names at the top are usually the same. Brady. Rodgers. Newton. Roethlisberger. That’s understood. It’s also understood that Matt Stafford is at least on the next level down. He’s good, not great. Now his best target, future Hall-of-Famer Calvin Johnson has retired. The offense will suffer this season, unless Stafford spreads the ball around to Golden Tate and Marvin Jones and shows the type of vision and leadership that those top-tier quarterbacks often possess.
