FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) New York Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson returned from his one-game suspension to start the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy last year.

Richardson was arrested in Missouri in July 2015 for resisting arrest after driving at high speeds. After serving his suspension, Richardson was back on the practice field with the Jets on Monday and is expected to play against Buffalo on Thursday night.

The team has a roster exemption for Richardson, so it didn't need to make a corresponding move until Tuesday.

The Jets sacked Andy Dalton seven times in a 23-22 loss to Cincinnati on Sunday, and the defense is excited about the prospects of adding Richardson to the mix. He says it was good seeing his defensive linemates have a big game and adds that ''I've got my work cut out for me.''
