It’s been an awkward 19 months for the Patriots owner, dating back to the whole Deflategate saga. On one hand, New England’s fan base has made Roger Goodell feel as welcome in its six-state territory as Rocky Balboa was in Russia. On the other hand, Kraft remains an influential force in league circles (he’s on the media, finance and NFL Network committees, and part of the NFL Management Council Executive Committee) and a confidant of the commissioner’s (evidenced by his inclusion on chairmen’s committee, recently formed to advise Goodell).
