No. 44: Tony Romo

What we already know after Tony Romo suffered a broken bone in his back: This will be the fifth time in seven seasons that the 14-year vet will fall short of 16 starts. What we don’t know is whether Dak Prescott will do better than others have as the Cowboys’ temp. Dallas has won just one of its 14 Romo-less games over the last three years. If Prescott, with tweaking of the scheme, can keep the Cowboys afloat, Romo’s re-entry will be fascinating, because the result could 1) shake up the NFC race and 2) lead to larger questions about Dallas’s future.
