Bills scratch McCoy vs. Patriots because of hamstring injury

The Green Bay Packers will play in Atlanta without star pass rusher Clay Matthews and wide receiver Randall Cobb, both because of hamstring injuries.

Wide receiver Ty Montgomery, who has been helping out in an injury-ravaged backfield, is also out with an illness. That leaves Knile Davis and Don Jackson to run the ball for the Packers.

Matthews has had hamstring issues in the past, and he already missed a game earlier this season because of ankle and hamstring injuries. Julius Peppers was listed as the starter in place of Matthews, and Davante Adams moved into the starting lineup for Cobb.

For Denver, one Pro Bowl defender is back while another is out. Cornerback Aqib Talib is inactive for the game against San Diego, after missing practice most of the week with a bad lower back.

The Broncos activated star pass rusher DeMarcus Ware, who has been out since breaking his right forearm on Sept. 18. The outside linebacker returned to practice this week.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Buffalo Bills left running back LeSean McCoy inactive against New England because of a left hamstring injury. The NFL's fourth-leading rusher sat out much of the second half last week in a loss at Miami.

Detroit played at Houston without its best cornerback, Darius Slay, because of a hamstring injury. Carolina hosted Arizona without starting cornerback James Bradberry (toe) for the third straight game and left tackle Michael Oher (concussion) for the fourth straight game.
