Johnny Manziel reaches deal for dismissal of domestic assault case
Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has reached a tentative deal with prosecutors for the dismissal of his domestic assault case involving his ex-girlfriend, according to the Associated Press.
Manziel, 23, is charged with misdemeanor domestic violence assault after his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, accused the former Heisman Trophy winner of kidnapping, hitting and threatening to kill her in January. The couple broke up in December 2015.
A hearing will be held on Dec. 1.
According to Crowley, Manziel invited her to his hotel room in Dallas before he slapped her and ruptured her eardrum. She told police that he dragged her by the hair and forced her into a car before driving to her home in Fort Worth.

Manziel was indicted in April on the domestic violence charge. He turned himself in to police before posting bond.
Manziel played for the Cleveland Browns in 2015.
