Already an integral part of Carolina’s offense after finishing third in the NFL with 1,965 yards in 2018, McCaffrey has had to do even more this year helping backup quarterback Kyle Allen with starter Cam Newton sidelined with a foot injury.

McCaffrey has thrived with the additional responsibilities and is coming off his most productive game of the season as Carolina (3-2) held off Jacksonville, 34–27, last Sunday. The third-year back had an 84-yard touchdown run as part of a season-high 176-yard rushing day and also added six catches for 61 yards and a score, going airborne to get into the end zone on a 5-yard pass to cap a game-opening touchdown drive. His stellar play has had a huge effect for Allen, who completed 17 of 30 passes for 181 yards.

Allen has completed 66.7% of his passes for 674 yards and five touchdowns without an interception in 90 attempts since replacing Newton. Carolina is seeking its first four-game winning streak since 2017.

This is the third time the Buccaneers–whose owner Malcolm Glazer also runs England’s storied Manchester United soccer club–are playing in London and the first time since 2011. Tampa Bay (2–3) is seeking its first sweep of Carolina since the 2016 season, but are also coming off a 31–24 loss at New Orleans last Sunday.

Jameis Winston staked Tampa Bay to a first-quarter lead after hooking up with Chris Godwin on a 26-yard touchdown pass, but the Buccaneers defense struggled to get off the field all game–allowing the Saints to convert 8 of 15 on third downs–and failed to slow down Michael Thomas, who had 11 catches for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Winston threw for 204 yards and a pair of scores, but was also sacked six times. The lack of pass protection is emerging as a theme for the Bucs, who have yielded three or more takedowns of Winston in four of their five games and 18 overall.

Godwin continued his breakout season with seven receptions for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns for his third 100-yard game of the season. Godwin has a league-leading six touchdown catches and is third with 511 yards, as he has exploited defenses keying on Mike Evans.
