The Steelers (5-4) were left for dead after a 26-23 overtime home loss to AFC North-leading Baltimore in Week 5 in which quarterback Mason Rudolph suffered a concussion after a brutal hit under his chin. After third-stringer Devlin Hodgers powered Pittsburgh to a 24-17 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Rudolph and the Steelers have come out with renewed purpose winning three-straight games after their bye week.

That includes a 17-12 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Minkah Fitzpatrick continues to be a game-changer for the Steelers, giving them the lead for good with a 43-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the second quarter. The safety, acquired from the Miami Dolphins before Week 3, has recorded four interceptions and scored two defensive touchdowns in six games with Pittsburgh.

Fitzpatrick also contributed to a defense that held the Rams without an offensive touchdown and just one third down conversion on 14 attempts.

Rudolph was effective, completing 22-of-38 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown, with James Washington hauling in six catches for 90 yards and a score. The second-year receiver has 10 receptions for 159 yards in his last two games after totaling 10 catches for 161 yards in his first six.

Cleveland (3-6) may have saved its season with a 19-16 victory over Buffalo on Sunday that snapped a four-game losing streak. Baker Mayfield’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Rashard Higgins with 1:44 to play provided the go-ahead points, and the Browns escaped with the victory after Stephen Hauschka missed a 53-yard game-tying field goal with 17 seconds to play.

Mayfield finally had his first game with two touchdown passes as he finished 26-of-38 for 236 yards, hooking up with Jarvis Landry nine times for 97 yards and a touchdown. Nick Chubb rushed for 116 yards for his third 100-yard game in his last four contests. The second-year back is 81 yards shy of 1,000.

The Steelers are unbeaten in the last eight meetings with the Browns, recording seven wins and a tie. The teams opened last season with a 21-all draw in Cleveland, before Mayfield took over the starting job. He did throw for 180 yards and a pair of TDs in Pittsburgh’s 33-18 victory in Week 8.
