Report: 49ers vs. Eagles Week 13 Will Not be Flexed Into Primetime

In this story:
Well that's a bummer.
The highly anticipated Week 13 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles will not be flexed into primetime, per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
FOX is electing to protect this game so that it remains on their network. The game will continue at its original schedule 1:25 p.m. PT/4:25 p.m. ET and not on NBC for Sunday Night Football. Instead, it will be the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Green Bay Packers in an "electric" matchup. I'm sure everyone cannot wait for that one (sarcasm).
Having this game on primetime would've been perfect. Both teams have done quite a bit of talking over the offseason. Not to mention that it wasn't a legitimate matchup between the two the last time they faced off in the NFC Championship game. Brock Purdy was practically out for the rest of the game after the 49ers opening offensive series. This time around he should make it start to finish barring some disastrous luck.
Still, I can't say I blame FOX for wanting to keep this game. They are allowed, as well as CBS, to protect one game per week on their network. 49ers vs. Eagles in Week 13 is going to do some incredible numbers. Everyone will want to check in on this game besides the fan bases of both teams. The build up from the playoffs, the offseason, and the fact that they are the two best teams in the NFC will generate an insane amount of buzz.
This game will surely have a major impact on that No. 1 seed for the playoffs.
