In this story:

Darnell Mooney's health was addressed by coaches during Bears rookie minicamp but he gave a bit more detailed description of it during a talk with the newest brother interview team in football, the St. Browns.

Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions and the Bears' Equanimeous St. Brown aren't quite the Manning brothers yet but appeared on the33rdteam.com and spoke with Mooney, whose biggest concern right now is helping the team and getting his new contract.

"I feel good about it, though," Mooney said of a contract extension. "They want to see me run and stuff so we'll see. I'm in no rush."

The contract expires after this season and GM Ryan Poles has said the next order of business is talking about the new deals for Mooney, Cole Kmet, Jaylon Johnson, Chase Claypool and others.

Wanting to see Mooney run first is natural after his surgery on his ankle.

"I am running," Mooney said. "I'm cutting. I started cutting today. So I'll be 100%. I got screws in my foot so I'll be a little robotic, you know, probably 1,000 times better than I was."

Mooney said he had tightrope surgery. It's what former teammate N'Keal Harry had last summer after his ankle injury in practice, except Mooney's injury was more severe than Harry's.

Tightrope surgery involves an orthopedic implant that stabilizes the syndesmosis, a strong band of ligaments connecting the fibula and tibia.

So now Mooney is feeling good about his ankle and also about his ability to work into the new receiver corps that involves DJ Moore.

"Do whatever I can do for my team, or whatever," Mooney said . "I mean ball out, of course. Dominate.

"Not really on the 'respect my name' (theme) anymore. I'm just disrespecting everybody now. I don't really care about respect no more. Other than that, I just want to win. I don't really care about anything else, for real."

The interview is worth watching if you can stomach all of the "technical difficulties" stoppages because of disconnections.

Someone needs to spring for a higher speed of internet. Maybe after the new contract.

It's somewhat humorous how Mooney and Equanimeous St. Brown gang up on the Lions receiver, who is an excellent interviewer. The brother takes sides with his teammate and not his brother.

Most interesting part: Easily how Amon-Ra trashes Soldier Field's turf, and the Bears duo can only agree with him.
