CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green signed his franchise tender on Friday. The seven-time Pro Bowler is hoping to regain his old form after missing 29 of the last 64 games due to injury.

One analyst thinks rookie quarterback Joe Burrow is going to benefit tremendously from Green being on the roster.

Former NFL wide receiver James Jones gave a bold prediction for the Bengals' new duo.

“Fifteen touchdowns. That’s the first thing that comes to mind," Jones said on NFL Network. "I know the type of route runner and playmaker that A.J. Green is and then you’ve seen all the special throws Joe Burrow can make. You seen him do that last year in college. I'm excited to see it. But when you say that Joe Burrow-A.J. Green immediate, to me that's easily 15-plus touchdowns.

"A.J.’s going to get a lot of targets. He’s going to be the young fella’s favorite weapon out there. And this is going to be exciting man."

Green, who will turn 32 at the end of the month, is excited to play with Burrow. He loves what the young quarterback did at LSU.

"I know the type of player he is and I know he’s a dog," Green said. "I know he’s a dog for a fact. So I’m excited to play with him. I just can’t wait to get out there."

Burrow and Green have exchanged text messages this offseason, but they haven't worked out together. That should change within the next 10 days.

Bengals rookies are scheduled to report to camp on Tuesday, July 21. Veterans are set to report on the 28.
