DeAndre Hopkins' Cardinals Goodbye Foreshadowing Bills Signing?

Could this detail in DeAndre Hopkins goodbye to the Arizona Cardinals hint at him joining the Buffalo Bills?

The Arizona Cardinals officially released former All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins on Friday, ending months of rumors and speculation.

Now that he's a free agent, there will be plenty of suitors lining up for his services. According to DraftKings, the Buffalo Bills are the favorites to sign Hopkins, followed closely by the Kansas City Chiefs and others. There has been plenty of of speculation surrounding Hopkins going to Buffalo for months, and he may have just added fuel to that fire.

Shortly after news broke of his release, Hopkins posted a goodbye to the Cardinals on Twitter. However, fans quickly noticed a noticeable exclusion. Hopkins' game-winning touchdown against the Bills in 2020, dubbed the "Hail Murray" after Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, was nowhere to be seen.

Now it's entirely possible, if not probable, that this is all just a coincidence. Considering that this was Hopkins' most iconic as a Cardinal though, it seems like a strange exclusion. Some Bills fans have even taken this detail as a hint that the star receiver is planning to sign in Buffalo.

If this is intentional, it wouldn't be the first time Hopkins has hinted at joining the Bills. He recently heaped praise on quarterback Josh Allen, calling him "One of my favorite quarterbacks that I've been watching since he came into the league." Multiple Bills players, most notably edge rusher Von Miller and offensive lineman Dion Dawkins, have also been vocally recruiting Hopkins to Buffalo throughout the offseason.

Whether or not this is all smoke and mirrors, Hopkins would be an excellent addition to the Bills' offense and bolster their receiver corps.
