DeAndre Hopkins Signing with Bills? 'See You Soon!' Says Dion Dawkins

In an already-deleted tweet, Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins made his thoughts clear on the possibility of DeAndre Hopkins coming to Orchard Park.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller isn't a NFL general manager just yet. So for now, he's allowed to have a bit of fun on social media after Friday's breaking news.

The Arizona Cardinals announced that they've released star receiver DeAndre Hopkins after months of trade rumors and speculation proved to be nothing but anticlimactic. Thanks to the added fire Miller brought to these rumors as an instigator of sorts, the Bills had appeared heavily involved in a potential trade.

But if the Bills truly want to acquire Hopkins, things just now got a bit easier for them. Miller clearly recognizes this and took to social media quickly after the news broke to share his reaction.

For starters, Miller tweeted out a simple eyes emoji with no context. A symbol that has become universal for when a situation raises eyebrows, Miller used it in the right context here. Solid choice.

On Instagram, he took things a step further, posting a picture of Hopkins with a cliche thought bubble above his head and a Buffalo inside the little cloud. We're defintely stirring the pot at this point.

But none of this compares to the intentions Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins made quite clear, as he tagged Hopkins on Twitter to let him that there's a spot waiting for him in Orchard Park. It's possible that Dawkins realized he may be getting ahead of himself, as he already deleted the tweet.

"@DeAndreHopkins there is a spot right next to me in the locker room #YouAlreadyShnow see u soon," Dawkins tweeted.

This talk is exactly the kind that Miller couldn't help himself to prior to the draft. During multiple media appearances, he made sure everyone knew how badly he wanted Hopkins in Buffalo.

"But we got another guy out there that we could possibly get, DeAndre Hopkins man," Miller said last month. "If you could just imagine here with me, DeAndre Hopkins Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, (James) Cook, Damien Harris, Josh Allen. … That is a crazy lineup."

Hopkins' release now potentially opens up the door for the Bills to sign him to a new deal rather than give up players or future draft assets for him. Of course, Buffalo will need to offer Hopkins a contract that pleases him while keeping things affordable for the team, something that could prove to be tricky.

But with Miller as a Bills spokesperson of sorts, it's possible the team might be willing to jump through some hoops to land Hopkins.

"We got a lot of talent over there man, but I think I think DeAndre Hopkins would put it over the top," Miller said "So I think that would be huge for us to get a guy like Nuk, to get a guy like DeAndre Hopkins man. We just have to wait and see because things happen."

During Arizona's abysmal 4-13 finish this past season, Hopkins still finished as the team's leader in receiving yards (717) despite missing eight games, six of which came in the first six weeks of the season due to a PED suspension.

The five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection will be entering his 11th season in 2023.
