Best Non-QB Bills of This Century; Who Makes The Cut?

Are these the five best non-quarterbacks that have played for the Buffalo Bills since 2000?

NBC analyst Chris Simms recently ranked the best non-quarterback players to suit up for each franchise since 2000. With quarterback Josh Allen out of the mix, it made it much more difficult to narrow down five players for the Buffalo Bills, who didn't make the postseason this century until the 2017 season.

Simms and co-host Ahmed Fareed ultimately settled on these five names as the Bills' representatives:

- P Brian Moorman: It can sometimes be difficult for punters to stand out, but Moorman was a First-Team All-Pro in both 2005 and 2006, so he found a way. Additionally, Moorman was elected to the Hall of Fame's All-2000s Team.

- DE Aaron Schobel: A second-round pick out of TCU in the 2001 NFL Draft, Schobel spent his entire nine-year career with the Bills. A two-time Pro Bowler, Schobel is a distant second to Hall of Famer Bruce Smith on the Bills all-time sacks leaderboard with 78.

- DT Kyle Williams: Another player who spent the entirety of his career in Buffalo, Williams made six Pro Bowl appearances in 13 seasons. Williams finished an excellent run in Buffalo with 609 combined tackles, 103 tackles for a loss and 48.5 sacks.

- RB Fred Jackson: Undrafted out of Coe College in Iowa, Jackson caught on with the Bills and spent parts of eight seasons with the team. During that time, Jackson accumulated 5,646 rushing yards and 2,640 receiving yards.

- S Jordan Poyer: After bouncing around early in his career, Poyer has become a stalwart for the Bills, including being selected as a First-Team All-Pro in 2021. The 32-year-old is currently preparing for his seventh season in Buffalo.

Other names Simms mentioned that didn't make this list included receiver Eric Moulds, defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, linebacker Matt Milano and cornerback Tre'Davious White. Even though it's only been three seasons, receiver Stefon Diggs has 4,189 receiving yards as a Bill, and on such an underwhelming list, we'd question whether he should have been included already.

Additionally, running backs Marshawn Lynch and LeSean McCoy both spent time in Buffalo, but ultimately were more remembered for stints elsewhere, which is why they cracked the finalists for the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.
