The Buffalo Bills are making some key roster moves amid some potential season-ending injuries on defense.

The Bills announced Wednesday that they've placed linebacker Matt Milano and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones on injured reserve. In corresponding moves, Buffalo has signed linebacker A.J. Klein to the 53-man roster and designated second-year linebacker Baylon Spector to return from IR.

Milano (knee/leg) and Jones (pec) are both likely out for the rest of the season after suffering injuries in Sunday's 25-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

From the start, Bills coach Sean McDermott had said that Milano's injury was serious.

"Injury update for you, Matt Milano, it's a knee, lower leg injury," McDermott said. "I know it's not looking good right now, but I don't know any details beyond that at this point."

Milano, who agreed to a two-year extension through the 2026 season during the offseason, entered Week 5 having posted 27 total tackles, one forced fumble and two interceptions this season. He exited Sunday's loss with three solo tackles, but was eventually carted off from the sideline with a black cast around his leg.

As for Klein and Spector, they'lll now look to contribute to a defense that has been one of the league's best early this season.

Klein was waived by the Bills in March 2022 in a cap-clearing move. He then began last season on the New York Giants practice squad before signing to the 53-man roster of the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 6.

But the Ravens traded him to the Chicago Bears 25 days after signing him. And a little over two weeks later, the Bears waived him.

Looking to find somewhere to settle, he returned to a familiar place in Buffalo one day after being cut by Chicago. After playing for the Bills during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the team signed him on for the rest of last season, as he recorded 11 total tackles in six games.
