Bills Signing Dalvin Cook Still a Possibility, He Says

Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook spoke bluntly about the possibility of signing with the Buffalo Bills and teaming up with his younger brother in the backfield.

When it came to potentially signing DeAndre Hopkins in free agency, the Buffalo Bills and Bills Mafia were stuck in a flirty back-and-forth like high schoolers who lead each other on.

But former Minnesota Vikings running back and current free agent Dalvin Cook is showing that he's much more keen on communicating his feelings when it comes to the Bills.

Making a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Cook spoke openly about potentially signing with the Bills and joining his younger brother, James. The four-time Pro Bowler didn't dance around the questions asked, and gave Bills Mafia some hope that he could sign with the team, especially after the season-ending injury to Nyheim Hines.

"(The Bills) are down a back, so it's not out of the picture for me to go play there with 'em," Cook said.

It doesn't get much clear cut than that, especially in a world of social media defined by Twitter emojis and rumors. However, Cook admitted that while playing alongside his brother would be "exciting," there's personal reasons that could prevent him from doing so.

"That would be exciting for me and my family, it would," Cook said. "I want my brother to go tear the league up, which he is, and prepare for it," Cook said. "And I don't want to be the one in his way of stopping him from doing that. That was the whole thing."

But regardless of whether or not he signs with the Bills, Cook admitted that the AFC East is likely where he'll end up.

"I think so, I think that's really like a high percentage for my landing spot," Cook said. "I think those teams have shown a lot of interest in coming to pick me up and having me join their team."

It's highly unlikely that Cook will remain unsigned prior to the preseason. The Bills' preseason opener at home against the Indianapolis Colts is on Saturday, Aug. 12.

Could Buffalo sign him by then? As always, time will tell.
