Bills Sign Vikings Ex Cameron Dantzler, Cut CB; What’s Next Move?

The Buffalo Bills made a late free agency addition to their secondary on Wednesday, signing cornerback Cameron Dantzler to a one-year deal

The Buffalo Bills continue to add to their roster late into free agency. After signing edge rusher Leonard Floyd on Monday, the Bills announced they signed cornerback Cameron Dantzler to a one-year deal on Wednesday.

Dantzler spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. A third-round pick out of Mississippi State, Dantzler earned a starting role right away in Minnesota. He played 35 games for the Vikings, starting 26 of them.

Last season, Dantzler recorded 50 tackles, five passes defended, three tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. He finished his Vikings tenure with 149 tackles, 17 passes defended and three interceptions.

Despite his decent play in Minnesota, the Vikings released Dantzler on March 10. The Washington Commanders claimed him on waivers three days later, but they released him on May 30.

To make room for Dantzler, the Bills released fellow cornerback Kyler McMichael. McMichael was an undrafted free agent signing by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 and made his way to Buffalo before the season, although he never played game for either team. He began his college career at Clemson before transferring to North Carolina.

Now with his third team in as many months, Dantzler is looking to prove he's still a quality NFL corner.
