Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs Camp Absence Update: ‘He’ll Be There!’

The situation is an odd one, regardless of whether it is about to be solved. But Stefon Diggs does bring the drama to the Bills.

Did the absence of star receiver Stefon Diggs during workouts this offseason - an absence that according to Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott extended into Buffalo's mandatory minicamp beginning on Tuesday - just get solved?

McDermott usually plays issues like this close to the vest, so his Tuesday morning announcement about being “very concerned” about his Pro Bowl receiver’s whereabouts was …

Well, very concerning. But in the lunch hour, an upset from Diggs’ agent, who insists there is nothing to worry about.

Agent Adisa Bakari tells ESPN that Diggs is in town, “took his physical, met with the head coach and GM the past two days and “will be there for the entirety of the minicamp.”

The situation is an odd one, regardless of whether it is about to be solved. Diggs just signed a four-year, $96 million extension last offseason and is viewed as a foundational player in the Buffalo hopes of winning a Super Bowl.

But he also leans toward the … well, the dramatic - as Buffalo fans have learned, just as fans of his previous employer in Minnesota learned all too painfully when he begged his way off the Vikings.

Meaning? The agent said Diggs will be here. He didn’t say whether the issue is about something worse than, say. A flat tire. Oh … and why did he “meet with the coach and GM”?

With Diggs in Buffalo, it appears a football crisis has been avoided. But football drama? As long as Diggs is a Bills star, that’s probably going to be in play at Orchard Park.
