Dalvin Cook to Visit Jets; Can Bills Still Sign Running Back?

Dalvin Cook has discussed the idea of signing with the Bills because of the injury to Nyheim Hines. But this would be a different-level move than what Buffalo has done there ... and right now, it's the Jets who are doing the moving.

Running back Dalvin Cook has recently made noise about the idea of him signing with the Buffalo Bills. But now comes news - on the heels of Aaron Rodgers' salary being juggled by the Jets - that the free agent running back flying to New York on Thursday for a weekend visit with Buffalo's AFC East rivals.

Cook's release from Minnesota has triggered a bidding war - or, at least, a rumor war - involving all four AFC East teams. The Jets have long been rumored to be interested in the four-time Pro Bowl running back. ... an idea that has gained some momentum as Jets back Breece Hall is opening their training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

Additionally, of course, having traded for the Packers' Rodgers, there is an "all-in'' vibe to the Jets' efforts to climb out of the division basement and contend for a title.

Rodgers' new two-year, $75 million guaranteed deal puts his cap number at under $9 million, giving the Jets all the room needed to add Cook, who sources have told us is seeking $10 million APY in his new contract.

Cook - the brother of Buffalo's James Cook - averaged 4.7 yards per carry in his six seasons in Minnesota. He has discussed the Bills most recently because of the injury to Nyheim Hines. But this would be a different-level move than what Buffalo has done there ... and right now, it's the Jets who are doing the moving.
