Broncos Reveal Date for New Uniform Unveiling

Denver Broncos fans can now circle their calendars for later this month when the new uniform design will be announced.

Last week, a Denver Broncos' social media post teased fans about an imminent new uniform design. The teaser came on the heels of a new 'Snow Capped' Color Rush helmet design the Broncos rolled out for two games last year that featured a white background with the team's classic 'D' logo.

Alas, the Broncos didn't have much success in those two Snow Capped games, but that didn't stop the team's still-new ownership and executive leadership from further pursuing a new uniform design, or, at the very least, a tweak of some sort to the current look.

On Tuesday, the Broncos posted another teaser of sorts on X (formerly known as Twitter), circling April 22 as the new uniform unveiling day.

9NEWS' Mike Klis confirmed that Tuesday's X post was in reference to the new uniform design being revealed to fans on April 22, just three days before the NFL draft kicks off.

"Broncos announce they will reveal their new uniforms on Monday, April 22. Three days before making first-round draft pick on Thursday, April 25," Klis wrote on X.

It would appear that orange will remain the primary home jersey color. In 1997, Denver switched the entire uniform design, including the helmet and logo, to that iconic flamed Bronco and the home jersey color to navy. In 2012, the Broncos were granted permission by the NFL to change their primary home jersey color to orange, while retaining the navy helmet with flamed Bronco logo.

While we don't yet know what this new design will be, Tuesday's announcement heavily implied that it will center around the iconic orange that football fans around the world associate with the Broncos. What new design aspects will accompany that orange remain to be seen.

For what it's worth, the last time the Broncos made a top-down uniform change (1997), they went on to win their first World Championship in team history. That was followed with another Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XXXIII, becoming just the seventh team in NFL history to win back-to-back World Championships (or the sixth, if you consider that the Pittsburgh Steelers are counted twice for achieving the feat with two different teams).

The New England Patriots (XXXVIII, XXXIX) and Kansas City Chiefs (LVII, LVIII) have since joined that elite NFL club of back-to-back Super Bowl champions. The Broncos are now one of nine teams to ever bring home back-to-back Lombardi Trophies.

It's also worth mentioning that after years of Super Bowl failure (four losses before '97), all of the Broncos' successes on the NFL's biggest stage have come since that fateful, iconic top-down uniform re-design. That includes the Broncos' Super Bowl 50 triumph with Peyton Manning, though the team wore its white away jerseys with the traditional blue helmet.

The Broncos have eight Super Bowl berths on their NFL resume, going 0-for-4 before the newest full re-design, and 3-for-4 since. If the Broncos' new owners are like the fictional Michael Scott of The Office, they might not be superstitious, but perhaps they're a little 'stitious.'

Thus, Broncos fans can probably anticipate the core logo, colors, and fundamental look of the uniforms to remain in tact, with a modern spin on them. All will be known on April 22 when the Broncos finally roll out th
