With the eviction of Russell Wilson from the Denver Broncos pending as the 2024 NFL offseason kicks off, the predictions of where the 36-year-old quarterback will end up next have consequently followed. Many teams have been thrown into consideration to bring Russ in to lead their offensive unit under center, but none have stuck out as a leader in the clubhouse to get him.

However, a new betting favorite has now taken command as suitors to acquire Russell Wilson for the upcoming season.

According to odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers are now in the lead to bring in the veteran signal-caller by a wide margin of -250. The next closest contender comes in at +550, the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Steelers are a team that's suffered from consistent unrest at the quarterback position over the past two seasons. The Kenny Pickett experience has not seen the type of success this front office envisioned when initially selecting him, which could inevitably lead to Pittsburgh adding some veteran competition to the mix. As the sportsbooks tell it, Wilson could end up as the guy.

The drastic change in odds in favor of Pittsburgh came after retired NFL receiver Chad Johnson claimed he had "a little birdie" tell him Russ would end up with the Steelers for next season.

Wilson ended his 2023-24 campaign in Denver, posting 3,070 total passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight interceptions within 15 games played. While he ultimately ended up leading the Broncos to an underwhelming 7-8 record, the strides forward he made from his sluggish 2022 season could make him an intriguing option to consider for Pittsburgh.

As the situation stands, Russ remains a Bronco for the time being, but the likelihood of his return is becoming increasingly difficult to see. If Denver wants to keep him past March 17th, it would result in dishing another $30 million his way in guaranteed money. Based on how the last two games of this season ended under Sean Payton, it would be a surprise to see him back in the orange and blue.

Expect chatter to continue in the coming weeks surrounding Wilson to Mike Tomlin and the Steelers if Vegas holds their ground.
