In this story:

The Denver Broncos training camp is in full swing. The Broncos were in pads again on Tuesday, Day 6 of camp, but it wasn't full contact.

With that said, there was still plenty of action to be seen with 11-on-11 drills. Several players had a good day as the Broncos moved through the first, second, third, and fourth teams on offense and defense.

The Broncos also practiced kickoff situations, which helped to understand what the makeup of this team will be come late August. Observing Tuesday's action, here are three players who really popped out.

Nik Bonitto | OLB

The Broncos and the edge group, in particular, need Bonitto to make a leap from his disappointing rookie season. From what he has put together in camp, he seems to be taking that necessary sophomore leap and putting an exclamation point on it.

Bonitto has abused offensive tackles in practice in passing situations and not just second and third-teamers either. On Tuesday, he set up veteran right tackle Mike McGlinchey with one look and then countered to get to Russell Wilson in a flash.

Bonitto consistently made both Cam Fleming and Isaiah Prince look like amateurs. It appears that Bonitto has added pass-rush moves to his repertoire and may have grown stronger; both were items he needed coming out of college.

The final piece is seeing how Bonitto sets the edge in the running game, but from what he did in camp on Tuesday, he looks like he can be significantly better in pass-rushing situations than he was last season.

Alex Palczewski | OL

Palczewski is a long shot to make the roster after going undrafted. However, he has ample college experience and played in a big-time conference which could give him an edge in evaluating who could make the roster.

Palczewski was running with the fourth team on Tuesday, so his competition on the other side of the ball was not stout by any means, but when he lined up at right tackle, he showed very well in pass sets. In fact, he had several good pass protection reps, likely because he sets back well into his stance and isn't a 'leaner.'

On one running play, Palczewski moved his man quite well. He did have a miscue on a rushing play, and that could have been due to miscommunication because the entire right side of the Broncos' O-line failed. It would be great to see Palczewski go head-to-head with some second-team edge rushers for a better evaluation in the coming days.

Taylor Grimes | WR

With the unfortunate loss of Tim Patrick for the season and waiving KJ Hamler, the Broncos' wide receiver group is wide open. Grimes made his way to the team as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Illinois State and has literally grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

Grimes just doesn't drop any passes thrown to him. On Tuesday, he ran good routes, got himself open on more than one occasion, and made some catches during 11-on-11 drills. He's an undersized player from a small school, and the deck is stacked against him to make this team. If he can find his way onto special teams and get the coaches' attention, as he's been doing with his sure hands, he could make that final roster decision very tough.
