NFL teams have already started releasing players or, in at least one case, have shown an intent to release a player. The Denver Broncos, though, have yet to take such action.

The NFL 2023 league year doesn't start until March 15, so there are still a few days before the Broncos will have to make decisions about players currently under contract. However, I've talked about players who could be either cut or asked to renegotiate their deals to take less money in 2023.

Jason Fitzgerald at Over the Cap has released a list of players who he believes are most in danger of being released. The three Broncos on the list are offensive guard Graham Glasgow, cornerback Ronald Darby, and running back Chase Edmonds.

It's not surprising these three players would make his list. I've mentioned Glasgow as a player I would cut, while Darby and Edmonds are players I've suggested renegotiating their deals for 2023, but if they are unwilling to do so, the Broncos may not have much choice but to cut them.

If all three players were released, the Broncos would save more than $26.5 million in cap space. The Broncos are currently $9.6M under the cap, so those three cuts would give the team more than enough space to retain current players and/or sign free agents from other teams.

While we've heard little from the Broncos camp about what they plan to do with certain players still under contract, aside from rumblings that they have discussed trades, it's likely that the team is working with a few players to renegotiate their deals. That would allow the Broncos to gain cap space and free up cash to spend elsewhere.

However, if push comes to shove, expect the Broncos to cut at least a couple of players in the coming days. The team simply must free up some resources to address other priorities.

Fitzgerald's list is also useful if you are curious about players who might become street free agents, or players who become free agents because they were released by their current teams. It's possible the Broncos could consider signing such players this offseason.
