Broncos Update Patrick Surtain II's Injury Status for Chargers Tilt

In this story:
By virtue of their 1-5 start to this season, the Denver Broncos' margin for error was almost non-existent. That's part of what made the team's five-game winning streak such a marvel — Denver had little alternative but to win out.
Last week's setback in Houston has now all but erased any remaining wiggle room in that margin. Sitting at 6-6, the Broncos have to aim for winning out down the stretch.
That mission starts on Sunday at SoFi Stadium, a venue in which the Broncos have never won, against the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers. Denver will need as many of its horses healthy and available, so without further ado, let's take a look at the final injury report for both squads.
Broncos
Questionable
- Samaje Perine | RB | Knee
Full Go
- Zach Allen | DE | Elbow
- Baron Browning | OLB | Wrist
- Chris Manhertz | TE | NIR-Rest
- Mike McGlinchey | OT | Back
- Marvin Mims Jr. | WR | Ribs
- Mike Purcell | DT | NIR-Rest
- Patrick Surtain II | CB | Knee
- Delarrin Turner-Yell | S | Back
Analysis: The Broncos are still very fortunate in the injury department. Outside of a few personnel losses, most of which happened in training camp, this team has stayed healthy, which has served Denver well.
Perine popped up on the injury report this week with a knee, so it'll be a situation worth monitoring. He's been a nice complement to Javonte Williams and a life-saver on third down and when the Broncos are running their four-minute offense.
The Surtain situation bears further monitoring, even though he's been cleared as a full go. Going up against Keenan Allen this week, the Broncos will need their All-Pro corner to win that matchup and limit Justin Herbert's options in the passing game.
Chargers
Out
- Zack Bailey | OL | Back
- Deane Leonard | DB | Ankle/Heel
- Joshua Palmer | WR | Knee
Questionable
- Amen Ogbongbemiga | LB | Hamstring
- Otito Ogbonnia | DL | Knee
Full Go
- Blake Lynch | LB | Ankle
- Justin Hollins | OLB | Chest
- Sebastian Joseph-Day | DL | Ankle
- Kenneth Murray Jr. | LB | Shoulder
- Trey Pipkins III | LB | Wrist
- Ja'Sir Taylor | CB | Illness
- Nick Vannett | TE | Concussion
- Nick Williams | DL | Foot
Analysis: As you can see, the Chargers haven't been as fortunate. Three players have been ruled out, with two additional defenders listed as questionable.
All of L.A.'s best players are healthy, though, so the Broncos can expect to get their best shot on Sunday.
