While the coaching staff is improved, much of the roster for the Denver Broncos is the same. The Broncos made some huge signings with free agents to improve the roster, but some holes remain.

While the Broncos are running low on salary-cap space, there are plenty of options to fill these remaining roster holes. Here are 15 free-agent fits.

Dalvin Cook | RB

The Broncos have questions about Javonte Williams' timeline to return from injury. The team can use someone to give its run game a boost, which will be the offense's focus, and Cook has been linked to the Broncos in the NFL rumor mill.

Cook has put up at least 1,100 yards in the last four seasons on at least 250 carries, and he also would add a versatile receiving option out of the backfield. How much gas is left in the tank, and what will the cost be?

George Fant | OT

Bringing back Cam Fleming was a good move, and he should be the backup swing tackle. However, Fant was doing good as a starter for the New York Jets before injuries. Fant can be a cheap piece for competition for Fleming while upgrading the fourth spot.

Trai Tuner | OG

Turner has been in the NFL for a long time, and he fits what the Broncos do on offense. Denver's depth at guard is terrible, and while Turner isn't as good as he once was, he is still a clear upgrade over what the team has.

A.J. Cann | OG

Cann is a solid run blocker, but he can be exploited in pass protection. There isn't much free-agent talent left on the interior, but Cann would still be an upgrade over the current depth the Broncos have.

Ben Jones | OC

The concussion history is a major question here. But Jones chose to keep playing and remains a free agent. If things are clear medically, he is a starter that would upgrade Denver's center position.

Chase Roullier | OC

Roullier has a significant injury history, but if cleared, he can be a solid upgrade as the starter at the center position. Even though the scheme isn't an ideal fit, he offers up more than the current projected starter for Denver Lloyd Cushenberry III.

Matt Ioannidis | DL

The Broncos are thin on their interior defensive line and could be looking for a third starter. Ioannidis has played the exact role the Broncos can be looking for, and even if he doesn't start, he provided experienced depth.

Michael Brockers | DL

Brockers barely played last season, and since being traded to the Detroit Lions, his play has declined. However, he has plenty of experience, and the Broncos lack that with their current depth pieces.

Chris Wormley | DL

Wormley is a strong-run defender who has proven himself as the first or second guy off the bench in rotation on the defensive line. He has the versatility to move up and down the line as well.

Myles Jack | LB

Jack is a near-household name, but the last two seasons have been rough for the former star linebacker. If he can be had for cheap, improving the Broncos' depth at linebacker could be worth the risk.

Kwon Alexander | LB

Alexander has an extensive injury history, which means he'll likely be willing to come cheap for lack of offers. He also has spent time playing under Sean Payton.

Ronald Darby | CB

A familiar face who was cut as a cap casualty. Darby was an excellent corner when on the field, but health was an issue. To improve the Broncos' depth on the boundary, seeing if Darby will return for the cheap wouldn't be a bad option.

Bryce Callahan | CB

Essang Bassey isn't a good depth option for the slot. Callahan is a proven player with issues staying on the field. Despite that, he is worth the look to be a potential backup to K'Waun Williams.

John Johnson | S

Caden Sterns is coming off a bad hip injury, and Kareem Jackson is not what he used to be. Adding another veteran who has more gas in the tank would be wise. Johnson isn't far removed from being a top-notch safety. If he can be had cheaply, it is well worth the risk.

Lamarcus Joyner | S

Joyner would be a good get because he can also drop and play in the slot. He is still playing good football and is worth a shot at this point in the offseason.

One Last Thing

The cost for all of the players will matter a lot. However, except for Cook, these free agents have been on the market for a while. That should lower the price to align with what the Broncos could reasonably offer.
