Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy Returns to Practice, Gets in Limited Session

In this story:
Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy continues to trend up in his return from a moderate hamstring pull.
Per head coach Sean Payton, Jeudy participated in Wednesday's practice on a limited basis — 13 days after sustaining the hammy injury, initially expected to keep him out for "several weeks."
"Ran a few routes but not many, at least during media viewing," observed 9NEWS' Mike Klis.
It remains to be seen whether Jeudy is active for Sunday's season-opening tilt against the Las Vegas Raiders, but his progress tracks with the team's decision not to place their former first-round pick on short-term injured reserve, which would have sidelined him until Week 5.
Jeudy, 24, is among just four WRs on the Broncos' 53-man squad, along with Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, and Brandon Johnson. The club also has three wideouts on the practice squad: Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Phillip Dorsett, and David Sills.
If Jeudy is declared inactive, second-round rookie Mims — who overcame his own hamstring issues this summer, and who's listed on the depth chart as the primary kick and punt returner — would likely draw the start opposite Sutton, with Humphrey or Dorsett potentially elevated from the taxi squad.
"He's moving well," Payton said of Mims. "He'll have a role not only as a returner but as a receiver."
