After departing from the Denver Broncos, Frank Clark is back to where it all began.
Multiple media reports indicated Wednesday that the veteran outside linebacker is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted Clark in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft.
Former Broncos’ pass rusher Frank Clark is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Seahawks, per source. Clark had several teams call but he wanted to return to where he started his career. https://t.co/cNdy1dYIZx

A three-time Pro Bowler, Clark spent his first four seasons in Seattle and another four with the Kansas City Chiefs before joining the Broncos in June. Added to bolster the pass rush, he appeared in only two games for Denver, notching zero sacks, quarterback pressures, or QB hits while losing his starting job to former seventh-rounder Jonathon Cooper.
With the writing on the wall, Clark agreed to restructure his deal to facilitate a trade out of the Mile High City, which never materialized. He was formally released on Oct. 13.
“I think it was kind of a win-win for both sides," Broncos head coach Sean Payton said after cutting Clark. "Frank was frustrated with the snaps, or lack thereof. We brought him in hoping that we could get more from him. In fairness to Frank, I don’t think he ever felt like he was getting enough in a row to play well, and yet, some of the other younger guys were earning those spots. It was difficult. It was a difficult decision, and we just felt it was in the best interest of the club.”
Clark, 30, becomes the latest ex-Broncos defection to Seattle, alongside defensive end Dre'Mont Jones, tight end Noah Fant, and QB Drew Lock.
