Jerry Jeudy: Broncos WRs Will be 'Hard Group to Stop'

In this story:
The Denver Broncos' strongest position — its wide receiver corps — will also be the most indefensible this coming season, health-willing. Just ask the top member of that group.
“We haven’t been all on the same field since, what, my rookie year? It’s been a few years,” WR Jerry Jeudy said Wednesday, via Pro Football Talk. “But having everybody on the field at the same time, it’s going to be big because I know what we’re capable of. And they know what we’re capable of.
“So, having everybody on the same field, it’s going to be a hard group of guys to stop.”
The Broncos' Big Three consists of Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Tim Patrick, a troika that, as the former pointed out, has rarely touched grass together on a full-time basis since 2020. That year, Sutton tore his ACL in Week 2. The next, Jeudy missed six games with a high-ankle sprain. Last year, Patrick suffered an ACL tear during training camp.
To say they've been snakebitten is a massive understatement. And that also includes WR KJ Hamler, who shredded his knee and dislocated his hip in 2021.
But, with the exception of Hamler, who sustained a torn pectoral muscle early this offseason, the unit enters 2023 at full capacity, primed for a busy campaign under offensive-minded head coach Sean Payton.
Hope reigns supreme.
“It would be amazing, honestly," Patrick said on June 13 regarding a healthy WR corps. "I think we got maybe two or three games together. It’s something that we all want."
ESPN recently projected that Jeudy will lead the lot in targets (106), catches (66), and receiving yards (987) while tying Sutton (95/57/768) with six receiving touchdowns. Patrick is predicted to finish third (73/46/604/4) followed by rookie wideout Marvin Mims (31/20/205/2) and Hamler (10/6/83/0).
"All the guys in there—competition brings out the best in everybody," Sutton said on June 8. "Everyone understands that in this business, competition is what pushes guys to get the cream to the top. But I think that it just brings out the best in everybody. All the guys in our room, we have a great room. We have a great room."
