Former Broncos RB Lance Ball Arrested for Domestic Violence

In this story:
Former Denver Broncos running back Lance Ball was arrested Monday on charges of domestic violence, second-degree assault, and criminal mischief, per a press release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place in Highlands Ranch, CO., and resulted in the hospitalization of the victim.
On June 5, 2023, Douglas County deputies responded to a residence near Venneford Ranch Road and S. University Boulevard in Highlands Ranch for a report of a physical domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed Lance Ball, DOB 06/19/1985, allegedly strangled and assaulted the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. Ball was taken into custody on charges of domestic violence, assault in the second degree, and criminal mischief. A charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Ball, 37, entered the NFL in 2008 as an undrafted free agent. The Maryland product held brief stints with the St. Louis Rams, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans before landing in Denver in 2009.
Ball made 41 appearances during his four seasons with the Broncos, rushing for 718 yards and two touchdowns on 179 carries, adding 26 catches for 225 yards and a pair of receiving scores. He was released in August 2013 and hasn't played a snap since.
