Jets Top Wideout Praises Browns Fans On Social Media

The Ohio State product remembered an electric night in Cleveland last season

Few games are as memorable for Browns fans over the last two decades than last season's Thursday night win over the Jets.

The magical night saw veteran quarterback Joe Flacco lead Cleveland to a convincing 37-20 win over New York, but most importantly clinched a playoff berth for the franchise for just the third time this century, in front of a raucous hometown crowd.

Apparently, the night wasn't only memorable for the Browns faithful though. Several months removed from the thrilling night at Cleveland Browns Stadium, Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson offered up some high praise for the Dawg Pound in a TikTok.

Wilson's post featured a video of him taking a moment to pray prior to kickoff of that Thursday night matchup in Cleveland, with the caption "Atmosphere was unmatched in CLE icl" (I can't lie).

Wilson is no stranger to how passionate Ohio sports fans can be. The 2022 first-round pick hails from Columbus, Ohio, where he spent much of his childhood. Despite attending high school at Lake Travis in Texas, Wilson chose to return to Columbus as a five star recruit and play his college ball at Ohio State.

Having played in front of 100,000-plus fans regularly on Saturdays, Wilson knows a thing or two about playing in front of electric atmospheres. His praise for Cleveland certainly carries some weight. It also has some fans trying to dream up a scenario in which Wilson returns to Ohio again, this time to play in front of the very crowd he showed admiration for.

Any hope of Wilson dawning brown and orange are unfounded at the moment. He is currently playing on his rookie deal for New York and is unlikely to even reach free agency until at least 2026, assuming the Jets will pick up his fifth-year option. Even for that to happen the Jets would have to decide against extending Wilson as well.
