See What Kevin Stefanski Has To Say About New Browns' O-Line Coach Andy Dickerson

In this story:
It's been a busy month for the Browns evaluating and tweaking their coaching staff following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
While most of the notable changes were of the Browns own doing as they moved on from several offensive coaches one unexpected one emerged in recent weeks after legendary offensive line coach Bill Callahan left the team to join his son Brian's staff in Tennessee. Luckily, Cleveland had already interviewed Callahan's eventual replacement after conducting an interview with former Seahawks offensive line coach Andy Dickerson during their search for an offensive coordinator.

Dickerson was ultimately hired to fill the void, a decision the team announced officially on Thursday. Along with Dickerson, the team also announced the addition of assistant o-line coach Roy Istvan, who comes over from Philadelphia where he held the same job. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski shared some thoughts on the addition of Dickerson in the press release.
"We were all very impressed with Andy, along with his background and knowledge when we first met about our offensive coordinator position," he said. "When our offensive line position opened, he was among the first calls I made. Andy loves teaching and will bring a passion and energy that will greatly benefit our linemen. He understands the high standard that room must have in order for our offense to be successful and we know he’s excited about being back in the building with this organization."
Dickerson previously spent the 2009-10 seasons on the Browns coaching staff, under then head coach Eric Mangini. His return to Cleveland comes after spending the last three seasons in Seattle as their o-line coach, as well as one seasons as the organization's run game coordinator in 2021.

Prior to that, he spent nine seasons with the Rams. In 2019 Los Angeles led the NFL in fewest sacks allowed with 22. One year prior, the Rams finished second in the NFL with an average of 421.1 yards per game and advanced to Super Bowl LIII. In 2017, the franchise led the NFL with 29.9 points per game.
As for Istvan, the 55-year-old brings 33 years of coaching experience on the college and pro levels. During his most recent five year stint with the the Eagles, Istvan was part of Philly's memorable run to Super Bowl LVII, as the team set single-season franchise records for points (477), total touchdowns (59), scrimmage touchdowns (57), rushing touchdowns (32) and total first downs (385). Under Istvan's tutelage, Cleveland native, Jason Kelce was named first team All-Pro four times (2019, 21-23), while T Lane Johnson (2022) was a first team selection once and a second team selection twice (2021, 2023).
