Despite the Tampa Bay Buccaneers having won each of their last three games and holding the top spot in the NFC South, the potential playoff berth isn't what is dominating the team's news cycle.

Instead, it's a weird situation surrounding linebacker Devin White, who was reportedly a healthy inactive on Sunday, as the Buccaneers took down the Green Bay Packers 34-20 on the road.

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that White told him that he "couldn't go" in the game.

Former Buccaneer Richard Sherman had some words on the matter, though, which he shared on Undisputed

“The conversation that I [had] to understand was they said they would rotate [Devin White and K.J. Britt]. They would rotate them and they would start K.J. Britt [against Green Bay] but they would bring David in and they’d flip-flop them,” Sherman said. “And Devin said he wasn’t about that, ‘I’m not a rotational player, not a rotational guy. I’d like to start and finish the game.’ That’s understandable. He’s been a great player in this National Football League. He’s been a Pro Bowler, but clearly, he’s fallen out of grace with Todd Bowles and this defense for some reason.”

While there's no way of knowing how much validity is in that statement from Sherman, only one person would truthfully know what went on behind the scenes, and that's White himself.

“I don’t know man. I can only speak from what I know from what I went through and what I personally deal with. I know I don’t have to tell no lies," White said. "It is what it is. ...Baker went crazy last weekend and we're talking about Devin White. I shouldn't be mentioned in a game I didn't play."

White truthfully didn't offer much behind the curtain, other than he's not going to lie. Whether he did say he wasn't going to be a rotational player or not, good on him for giving Baker Mayfield his props after a huge week, and acknowledging that it should be the biggest storyline from the weekend.

"It's just another stepping stone in my journey that I'm willing to face," White continued.
