Buccaneers Take Quarterback of Future in First Round of 2024 NFL Mock Draft

In a recent 2024 NFL mock draft by the 33rd Team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select one of the top quarterbacks coming out.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' season has been one of ups and downs so far through the first half of their season. They started 3-1 just to see themselves lose four consecutive games to drop their record to 3-5 and to third place in the NFC South.

After their most recent loss to the Houston Texans - thought of as a must-win - the Buccaneers have earned? themselves a spot in the top-10 of the 2024 NFL Draft. If the Buccaneers don't start winning soon they could see their season and losses snowball meaning they could even move up further in the draft.

With the NFL season now halfway through, 2024 NFL Mock drafts are starting to fly off the shelves and according to the 33rd Team Tampa Bay will be selecting one of the top-performing quarterbacks from the collegiate level in the University of Oregon's Bo Nix.

The Buccaneers currently have Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield on their roster, but there is no telling whether or not Mayfield will return following his one-year deal and the Bucs should want to bolster their QB room anyways.

Nix started his collegiate career at Auburn University, but between lackluster coaching and underperformance, he decided to transfer to Oregon to try and prove himself.

And he has.

Last season, Nix played well in his first season with the Ducks completing 294 passes out of 409 attempts for 3,593 yards and 29 touchdowns to seven interceptions. Entering his last season of eligibility, Nix has upped his game earning himself Heisman Trophy consideration and just through nine games this season has completed 235 of his 301 passes for 2,723 yards and 25 touchdowns to JUST two interceptions.

Nix has resurrected his career while at Oregon and has show growth and maturity this season as he has become much better at protecting the ball and being efficient when throwing.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be wise to target a QB in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft whether they decide to bring Baker back or head in a different direction. A player of Nix's caliber could be the answer or they could find themselves in a better position to grab one of the top two guys in Caleb Williams or Drake Maye depending on how the season shakes out.
