Position Odds Released for the Buccaneers’ First Round Pick

The odds for what position player the Buccaneers draft tonight in the first round of the NFL draft have been released.
In this story:

The 2023 NFL Draft is officially here! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers along with all 31 other NFL teams will be selecting their next crop of players in Kansas City, Missouri over the next three days.

Leading up to the NFL Draft, there was much talk about what the Buccaneers' plans would be when it comes to their first-round pick (No. 19 overall). Would they trade up and look to grab one of the higher-upside quarterbacks or would they sit at 19 and draft either the best available player or someone of need?

Our very own Collin Haalboom, broke down options the Bucs should target on offense and defense in the first round prior to releasing his final mock draft. With the draft occurring tonight, the speculation on who the Buccaneers will draft in the first round will come to a close.

However, there is still time prior to the Bucs' pick tonight, so FanDuel Sportsbook released their odds for the position the Buccaneers are most likely to draft first in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Position

Odds

Offensive Line

+175

Defensive Line

+250

Linebacker

+450

Quarterback

+700

Cornerback

+700

Tight End

+1600

Unsurprising to most, the best position odds for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to draft first come from the trenches. The Buccaneers struggled heavily on both sides of the line last season - struggling to stop superior defensive lines from getting into the backfield, as well as being able to get into the backfield themselves. It seems like a safe bet the Buccaneers would lean this way to help sure up the line on both sides.

If the Buccaneers were to move up in the draft it would seemingly be to acquire either a quarterback or skill player they just couldn't hope would fall to them at No. 19. Either way, Jason Licht and the Bucs' front office/coaching staff seem to be on the same wavelength in terms of their plan heading into the draft. Once it begins, however, no one knows what will happen until the dominoes begin to fall.
