Buccaneers Offense Under QB Baker Mayfield Can't 'Get Much Worse' Says NFL.com

In this story:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to find an answer to the question of what happens without quarterback Tom Brady.
There are reports Bucs players are happy to be moving on from Brady, and that bodes well for the arrival of quarterback Baker Mayfield who not only doesn't want to be his predecessor but couldn't be much more different from a public persona standpoint.
But the burning question facing Tampa Bay as they hit the final stretch ahead of the NFL Draft is still about the quarterback position, just like it has been for the past three seasons.

"To their credit, the Bucs have largely retained their most important players and should be better offensively, with a healthier line and a new offensive coordinator in Dave Canales," says NFL.com. "It's not like their attack can get much worse than it was in 2022. The question is, are the Buccaneers playing a fool's game fighting to keep their contention window open, or will Mayfield rediscover his once-thrilling level of play with his fourth team in a calendar year?"
There are a lot of people around the Buccaneers believing what we're witnessing is the post-Brady return to mediocrity for a franchise that didn't win a postseason game while the legendary quarterback was busy winning Super Bowls 2-6.
But head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht have stuck to the message that their team is expecting to compete.
Tying a lot of expectations - and questions - to Mayfield in the process.
