The Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back room looks a whole lot different entering the 2023 NFL season than it has the past couple of seasons.

First and foremost the Buccaneers decided to move on from veteran running back Leonard Fournette, making second-year running back out of Arizona State Rachaad White the team's defacto RB1. The Buccaneers then went out and signed league traveler Chase Edmonds.

Edmonds figures to be a complementary piece to White along with fellow RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn. With White taking over the full-time duties as the top running back on the Bucs' roster, all eyes are on him after 'The Krewe' witnessed putrid performances from the running game last season.

Having all eyes on you is part of becoming the top guy at a position and that means that everything that happens to you, whether good or not, will be blown out of proportion by the media and sports fans alike.

Rachaad White is now experiencing that firsthand as he went down in practice on Sunday afternoon where he appeared to suffer some type of non-contact lower leg injury. White immediately got up and gingerly walked off to the side before working on putting weight on his ankle and testing it out. He did not return to practice.

Following practice, head coach Todd Bowles relayed to the media that White would indeed be fine and would not miss time.

As the news spread of White going down at practice so did the concern for many football fans across the country. However, White quickly took to his Twitter account following practice to put all the speculation to rest regarding whether he was injured or not.

The coaching staff will most likely look to be cautious with White as he is clearly the one running back that can seemingly carry the heavy haul of being the featured back for the Buccaneers. White didn't play in the first preseason game against the Steelers, and now following a little scare, it would be wise for the staff to once again protect their backfield asset and sit him in the second preseason game against the New York Jets.
