BucsGameday's MVPs From The Buccaneers Victory Over The Bears

In this story:
There were no shortages of star performances in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-17 over the Chicago Bears Week 2. Mike Evans had a day catching 7 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown. Baker Mayfield threw for over 300 yards a score. While Rachaad White had 73 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka led all defenders with two sacks. Christian Izien had his second interception in as many games. And Vita Vea was once again a force in the running game and came away with 1.5 sacks himself. Then there was Shaq Barrett who had a sack and a pick-six to end any chance of a comeback for the Bears.
Punter Jake Camarda was also stellar with a 52.8-yard average a long of 72 yards and three downed kicks inside the 20-yard line.
The BucsGameday crew delivered their MVPs for Week 2.
Collin HaalBoom: OLB Shaq Barrett
My MVP for the Buccaneers’ Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears is Shaquil Barrett. Not only did Barrett record his first sack since recovering from a devastating ruptured Achilles suffered in Week 8 of last season, but he also managed to provide a crucial pick-six to help secure the victory for his team. It was Barrett’s first career TD, and I couldn’t be happier to see him find success early this season… especially considering the tragic offseason he and his family were forced to deal with.

Logan Robinson: WR Mike Evans
There’s not much more you need to say, Mike Evans put on a show in Tampa in front of his fans and also the Buccaneers’ front office. That performance continues to show why he can be a 1,000+ yard WR every year in the NFL with any type of quarterback.
Kade Kimbale: OLB Shaq Barrett
Shaq Barret not only had two solo tackles, but a sack and a game-sealing pick-six. With a 20-17 lead and potential Justin Fields drive for the Bears, Barrett came up clutch, reading the screen route and coming up with a defensive score to seal the Buccaneers' second win of the season.
Ben Meyerson: WR Mike Evans
My MVP of the game is Mike Evans who finished with 6 catches for 171 yards (28.5 YPC!) and 1 touchdown. The offense ran through him today and he easily could have had a second touchdown. No other Bucs receiver finished with more than 60 yards, his receiving yards accounted for more than half of Baker Mayfield's production.

JC Allen: QB Baker Mayfield
There is no denying Evans' huge game. And Shaq Barrett's emotional pick-six to essentially seal the victory was a huge moment. But none of that happens without the stellar play of Baker Mayfield. The Bucs QB was like Houdini in the backfield constantly avoiding pressures and delivering accurate throws. He was nearly perfect on pressured passes and finished with over 300 yards on the day.
Caleb Skinner: WR Mike Evans
One could easily go with Baker Mayfield as their MVP for his performance against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but the performance by Mike Evans looked like a man on a mission. Evans was targeted by Mayfield 8 times and came down with 6 of those for 171 yards and a touchdown. Amid all the contract extension talk Mike was able to come out and handle business. In a game where Bucs' fans needed to see some more explosion on offense, Evans came through and put on a spectacular show.
Dustin Lewis: WR Mike Evans
I think I've got to go with star wide receiver Mike Evans following a vintage performance where he recorded eight catches for 171 yards - a whopping 28.5 yards per reception. That number was slightly inflated with one of the longest plays of his career, a 70-yard catch, that ended up aiding Tampa Bay's first touchdown drive of the game. If he keeps up this pace, Evans will continue his streak of 1,000-yard receiving seasons and force the Buccaneers to go deeper into the coffers to keep him around.
David Harrison: OLB Shaq Barrett
Shaq Barrett - Maybe it’s because I’m a father, or because I too have ties to Colorado, but I was personally and professionally excited when the Bucs landed Barrett in free agency and have remained just as confident he’s going to be a big reason the team succeeds when he’s on the field. In an imperfect performance, Barrett put the perfect finishing touch on Tampa Bay’s second win of the season.
Bucs Fans: WR Mike Evans
With 57 percent of the vote, Bucs fans chose Mike Evans as their MVP in Sunday's win over the Bears.
