Tom Brady Expects an 'Invigorated' Aaron Rodgers to be 'Dangerous' in New York for Jets

Tom Brady knows a thing or two about finding success with a new team. Apparently he believes that Aaron Rodgers and the Jets have what it takes to follow suit.

Even if they weren't the focus of this year's Hard Knocks, the New York Jets would still be the focus of many offseason NFL conversations. Which is to be expected when a multiple-time league MVP, and former Super Bowl winning quarterback switches teams for the first time in his career.

Sound familiar?

Aaron Rodgers joining the Jets after spending 18 seasons in Green Bay, is a dominant narrative in the NFL landscape.

As it should be.

The Jets have a ton of young talent on the roster. A top-tier defense. And their fans have been starved for a winning season for far too long. It's also strangely familiar to a situation that unfolded three years ago when Tom Brady left the New England Patriots organization after 20 seasons to join the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It didn't take long for Brady to silence his critics, as he went on to win his seventh Lombardi Trophy in his debut campaign with the Bucs. For the fans in Tampa... it was glorious.

So what about New York? Can the J-E-T-S fans expect a similar outcome with Aaron Rodgers at the helm? The answers will vary, depending on who you ask. But some are more qualified to weigh in than others. With Tom Brady topping the list.

On a recent episode of his Let's Go Podcast, which he hosts alongside Jim Gray and Larry Fitzgerald, Brady was asked about Aaron Rodgers, and what we can expect to see from the future Hall of Famer and the rest of his gang green this season.

"I'm excited for him. He'll be invigorated. Looks like he’s having a good time. I know he has been engaged in the offseason, which is always great, and really trying to connect with his teammates."

Brady continued.

“They have a really good team. They have a really good offense. And, you know, Aaron’s been, when he’s got good receivers... man, it’s pretty dangerous. I think he is gonna have a great year.”

There's no denying that the New York Jets have a very talented football team on paper. Whether or not Aaron Rodgers provides the missing ingredient for them to maximize their potential on the field is yet to be seen. Especially in the AFC East, where the Jets will have to face off against the Dolphins and Bills two times each — with both having legitimate championship aspirations of their own.

Still, an endorsement from Tom Brady — one of only two starting quarterbacks in NFL history (Peyton Manning) to hoist a Lombardi with two different teams — is worth paying attention to.
