Budda Baker Listed in Five NFL Stars Who Could be Traded During NFL Draft
We're one week removed from the 2023 NFL Draft, and the Arizona Cardinals have numerous questions that must be answered before the end of next weekend.
None are more fresh than the recent trade request from safety Budda Baker, who reportedly told the team months ago to make him the highest paid at his position or trade him. Baker has yet to be handed his new paycheck, and as a result no longer wants to play for Arizona.
With any top tier player at their position, a handful of teams immediately jumped with interest to add the All-Pro safety to their roster. While true landing spots and trade packages are in the dark, Pro Football Focus believes Baker could see himself moved on draft night.

"After weeks of back-and-forth conversations between Baker and the new Cardinals regime, Baker has reportedly requested a trade from the team that drafted him in the second round in 2017 as he seeks an extension that would place him near the top of the safety market," said Brad Spielberger.
"Over Baker's first six seasons in the NFL, his 90.1 run-defense grade ranks seventh among safeties, and his 40 tackles for loss or no gain rank fifth. Baker is the clear leader of this Cardinals team, and he just turned 27 years old. When he signed his extension in 2020 for $14.75 million per year, the safety market hadn't reached $15 million annually, but the following offseason Jamal Adams pushed it to $17.5 million.
"There is no question Baker deserves a bump in pay, at the very least, and perhaps he'll have to find that elsewhere, with the Jacksonville Jaguars one team that stands out as an interesting landing spot."
Baker was mentioned with Chase Young, Devin White, Za'Darius Smith and Emmanuel Ogbah as names who could be moved next weekend.
