NFL Insider Projects Will Anderson to Cardinals in New Mock Draft

The Arizona Cardinals land Alabama edge prospect Will Anderson in this mock draft done by NFL insider Daniel Jeremiah.

The Arizona Cardinals are still a wild card in terms of what they'll do with the No. 3 overall pick.

Some believe the Cardinals will trade out of the pick in hopes of capitalizing on a QB-needy team and pick up much needed draft capital, while other believe available talent after the first two picks would simply be too good to pass up on.

One of those players - Alabama Crimson Tide edge rusher Will Anderson - is considered to be one of the top defensive prospects in his class. His ability to wreak havoc on games as both a pass rusher and run supporter (against top level competition playing in the SEC) would help fill voids left by Markus Golden, J.J. Watt and Zach Allen.

NFL insider/draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah seems to agree, plugging Anderson as the newest Cardinal in his latest mock draft after Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud go in the first two picks:

Will Anderson

Pick: Will Anderson

Explanation: "I won't be surprised if the Cardinals trade this pick to Indianapolis, Seattle or Las Vegas. If they stay here, Anderson makes the most sense for a team that desperately needs a difference-maker on the defensive line." - Jeremiah

Earlier in the offseason, Jeremiah plugged Texas Tech edge Tyree Wilson to Arizona at No. 3. He could also be an option if the Cardinals are looking to trade back.

Anderson is the most popular pick for the Cardinals at this point in time. Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter was also highly in contention but some off-field issues have seemingly impacted his draft stock.

We're under 40 days until the 2023 NFL Draft, and should Arizona land Anderson, not too many fans would be upset.
