Report: Kliff Kingsbury Discussing Potential Role With Texans

Arizona Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury is back from his trip to Thailand, and he's looking for a potential opening with the Houston Texans.

PHOENIX -- Super Bowl LVII is two days away, and the Arizona Cardinals have yet to hire their next head coach.

Their former man in charge - Kliff Kingsbury - sped off to Thailand immediately after being fired by Michael Bidwill after Week 18 and has yet to make any moves since.

Until now.

ESPN's Dan Graziano is reporting Kingsbury is in Houston to meet with the Texans about a potential role with DeMeco Ryans' staff.

The Score's Jordan Schultz also reported it, while also adding he has a good relationship with Ryans and Nick Caserio.

Ryans was initially supposed to interview with the Cardinals prior to him joining the Texans, but he canceled his interview on the day of San Francisco's playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Kingsbury spent four seasons in Arizona after being fired at Texas Tech. He initially took the OC job at USC but then interviewed with Arizona and New York (Jets) before being hired by Bidwill.

He then brought Kyler Murray to Arizona after drafting him at No. 1 and was able to get the Cardinals to a playoff spot, but ultimately wasn't able to command the locker room like many hoped.

Many thought Kingsbury would have been a fit at New England's prior opening at offensive coordinator before he fled out of the country and Bill O'Brien took the job.

The Cardinals reportedly have narrowed down their search to Mike Kafka and Lou Anarumo but have yet to hire anybody. They aren't expected to make a decision until after the Super Bowl.
