We're approaching the dead part of the offseason where stories and headlines almost seem to be manufactured just to fill the air, yet rumors around former Arizona Cardinals DE J.J. Watt continue to grow.

We're only a few months removed from the end of the 2022 season where Watt announced his retirement from the NFL, putting a bow on a Hall of Fame career that featured time with the Cardinals and Houston Texans.

Watt didn't officially fill out the paperwork to retire, though the league doesn't require players do that in order to become eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

That - on top of brothers T.J. and Derek Watt playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers - has drawn some speculation around a potential return. Watt accomplished a lot during his career, yet a Super Bowl run eluded him.

Joining the Steelers to potentially make a push in the postseason while joining his brothers on an NFL team seems like a dream, and a possibility anybody would take is they were in his shoes.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin even extended an invite for Watt to come to the facility after Watt shared some touching words on social media.

Former Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor isn't ruling anything out.

"You might get that phone call throughout the year," Taylor said on the Bleav in Steelers Podcast. "Go on and stay in shape. Just in case.

"Picture the two Watts on both ends of the stick coming off the edge. J.J., a future Hall of Famer, put your helmet on alongside your brother, T.J., trying to make a playoff push... I'm just saying."

Watt and his wife just a purchased an unknown stake in Burnley Football Club, who will be rejoining the English Premier League next season - so he's been very busy with that.

However, Watt has often spoke on what he would do with all of his free time next football season. The itch to play - with his brothers - and potentially compete for a title - could swoon him back.
